Biography

Jamie Khan has longstanding roots in South Carolina’s Lowcountry and strong ties to the community. He is a seasoned trial lawyer and complex problem solver with a proven track record of achieving meaningful results for his clients.

Jamie approaches each matter with attention to detail, strategic decision-making, and a versatile knowledge of the law. He has extensive experience resolving disputes through negotiation, settlement, mediation, litigation, trial, and appeal at all levels of state and federal courts.

Jamie represents clients across a wide spectrum of complex matters, including contractual disputes, real property and partnership disputes, commercial and business litigation, insurance disputes, construction matters, serious injury and wrongful death claims, and creditor-debtor disputes. His experience and temperament have also made him a trusted mediator and arbitrator.

Jamie has been consistently recognized by his peers for excellence in commercial litigation. He has been selected to Best Lawyers® for Commercial Litigation and to Super Lawyers® for Commercial and Business Litigation for multiple years. He has also maintained an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell® since 2014, reflecting the highest peer-reviewed standards for legal ability, professional judgment, and ethical conduct.

Jamie has given back to his alma mater and the broader community through significant leadership and service. He previously served as a member of The Citadel Board of Visitors, the governing body of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, as Chairman of the Board and President of The Citadel Alumni Association, and as a member of the Board of Directors of The Citadel Foundation. He also served the City of Charleston and the Charleston Police Department as a member of the City of Charleston’s Citizen Police Advisory Council, which works to strengthen the connection between the Department and the community it serves.

Prior to entering law school, Jamie served as a patrolman and detective with the Charleston Police Department, experience that continues to inform his practical, disciplined approach to advocacy and dispute resolution.
